Romans
6:23
"For the
wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus
our Lord." ESV
God has never and
will never send any person to hell. It's pretty clear what the term "wages" are.
It is rewards earned by performing some task or work. That's right! People earn
themselves right into hell of their own doing. They get paid an eternity in hell
for the godless lives they live. No one earns eternal life, there are no wages
for getting to heaven. God gives eternal life as a free, unearned gift to those
who believe in His saving grace.
Heavenly Father,
help us to be wise when we are called on to answer why God would send anyone to
hell. Fill us with the Holy Spirit that Your Word will come to mind and we can
speak the truth. We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
