We live in a time
when our status in society is measured by how much material wealth we have. This
creates a driving force for all of us to work as hard as we can, in one way or
another, to get more and more. This is a deceiving plan of Satan. He knows as
humans we will become attached to our "things" and will want more. Then we will
get our eyes off of what really matters, the things of God. Material wealth is
only for a little while. The life of God through Christ Jesus and His will for
our lives is forever.
Heavenly Father,
forgive us for getting caught up in the things of this world. Give us
discernment to know it is a trick of Satan. Give us the right perspective about
the possessions with which You have blessed us. In Jesus' name,
Amen.
