FIRE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

 
1 Thessalonians 5:19

Fire is one of the many symbols of the Holy Spirit. It is a true characteristic of the Holy Spirit because He works to purify us, keep us motivated to live righteously, and give us the burning hunger for God and passing the Word along to others. We are warned in the Bible against putting out that fire by allowing the cares and desires of this world to smother the work of the Holy Spirit in us.


Heavenly Father, we ask that You will keep us aware of the Holy Spirit within us and our fellow Christians. We pray that we will not dampen the fire of the Holy Spirit and cause His work to be hindered. Help us to allow the fire of the Holy Spirit to burn in our hearts so that we will fulfill the plan You have for our lives and for the lives of those around us. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
