LOOKING FORWARD

2 Peter 3:13,14

"But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him."NIV

"Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless."KJV

Can we be truly honest with ourselves for just a moment? If others look at the way we live our lives, can they tell we are seriously looking forward to Christ's return? Can they even tell that we are Christians? We know, as true children of God, who is serious about Christ's return because they will be living lives that are clean, above reproach, and peaceful. Is that the kind of lives we are living?

Heavenly Father, if we have become complacent and lost our first love of Christ, forgive us. If we have not shown that we are living lives that reflect Your soon return, forgive us. Help us to stir up the faith within us to catch the fire that warms our spirit so that we will be living lives that are holy and blameless as we wait for Your return. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

I think about this a lot...so easy to get caught up in this world, forgetting that we are destined, as followers of Christ, for so much more. Good wake up call for me today.

Amen, Dr. Bobbi. This is my prayer too. Our actions speak so much louder than our words. Something we must never forget.
Blessings,
Charlotte
