If we could look
all at the same time at the entire number of Christians, we would see big and
little separate groups with their own specific patterns of how the individual
Christian and the church should be. Doesn't the Bible tell us that it is the
same Holy Spirit that dwells in all true believers and unifies us in Jesus
Christ? Why then are there so many different sects and groups who believe they
have the truth and no one else does? Satan divides. Christ unifies us through
His Holy Spirit. This unity is the pattern shown to us by Christ Himself as He
walked this earth and gave us His Word. If we all follow this pattern, we will
be unified, in unison with our Lord and with one another.
Heavenly Father,
forgive us for ever thinking that we have ownership of the Truth and those who
do not believe and practice everything as we do are lost. Increase our hunger
for the pattern You have set down for us through Your Son Jesus Christ. We thank
You for the unity that will prevail. In Jesus' name, Amen.
