HE TOOK OUR PLACE

1 Peter 2:24

"He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so
that we might die to sins and live for righteousness;
by His wounds you have been healed." (NIV)

"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the
tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto
righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." (KJV)

The very precious Son of God took all of your sins, my
sins, and the sins of the whole world into His body. He
had no sin of His own. But, He took the punishment for
us so that it would be as though we had not sinned at
all. It was a sacrifice of agony and horror driven by His
love for us. The bondage of sin then no longer holds us,
we are free to live righteously as He is righteous. And
because His body was beaten and battered, like wounds
and bruises, we are healed from the disease of sin.

Heavenly Father, how can we ever thank you for the
sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and for the way
He took our sins, while He himself was sinless, so
that we could be clean and free from the clutches
of this sinful world? We can, with your help, live
as dead to sin and alive to righteousness, just as
He is righteous. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Thank you so much for sharing each word. You have presented "The Way", for salvation through HIM, very openly and straight-forward.
Just a wonderful reminder that we can live a victorious life, not sinless, but with HIS power, the ability to sin less. I pray your weekend is restful.
