POOR IN SPIRIT

Being poor in spirit is the attitude toward ourselves that
keeps us aware of our total need of God's grace and mercy.
Without this attitude, we have no access to the riches of
Christ. With it, we have the fullness of the kingdom of heaven
right now.

Heavenly Father, this world has so many things that keep
us from having the right attitude about who we are. Help
us to keep the mind and attitude of Jesus Christ so that
our lives will be examples of your love and mercy. In Jesus'
name.

Read Matthew 5:3

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom
of heaven." (NIV)

"Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of
heaven." (KJV)

I love to think that my life is a cup. If filled, how am I going to be able to accept the things of God? May it always be empty, ready to be poured in with His love, grace, wisdom, etc...God bless.
